We have great pleasure of welcoming you to the Asteroids, Comets, Meteors (ACM) 2012 meeting, which will be held at the TOKI MESSE Niigata Convention Center from Wednesday, 16 May through Sunday, 20 May in Niigata City, Japan. The scientific committee of ACM 2012 is pleased to announce that we have received 483 abstracts including 224 oral presentations and 259 posters from 35 countries.

1. Deadline for on-line registration and payment: 7 May!
Both deadlines of Online Registration and Payment are at 17:00(JST) on 7 May, 2012. Please note that this deadline is our local standard time, which corresponds 8:00(UT) on 7 May. This means that it should be done within 6 May for most authors, especially in Western part of the globe.
We strongly hope you to do it as earlier as you can, because several attendees have reported problems with processing a credit card payment over the system. We apologize for troubling you.

The timeslot is so tight that some papers have been moved to poster from oral presentation by the judgments of the SOC.
3. How to prepare your presentation
Oral: You can use your own laptop to connect to the LCD projector provided in the session room. You should bring the adapters necessary to connect your laptop to a standard VGA (D-Sub 15-pin type) cable, and should test the connection at the session room prior to the start of the session.
[Caution] Connection trouble will consume the assigned time of your talk.
Alternatively, you can use our PC or Mac provided in the session room for your presentations. Electronic presentation files should be brought on a USB flash drive or CD-ROM/DVD. Make a backup presentation to take with you to the conference in the event of lost luggage, theft, incompatibility, and any unexpected trouble. You are strongly recommended to test if it works well before starting your session.
Speakers for Wednesday morning sessions are strongly recommended to perform presentation copy or laptop validation on Tuesday night, 15 May, between the hours of 16:00 to 20:30. The earlier check is better for all speakers. More detailed information including provided software is on our web.
Poster: Please bring your poster as being printed. The maximum sizes of a poster are 1200 mm in width (horizontal) × 1800 mm in height (vertical, from the floor). You can put it from 8:00 on 16 May. All posters must be removed by the end of last session on 20 May.

4. Check-in and On-site Registration
The registration desk will be open from 15:00 through 21:00 on 15 May at the conference hall of TOKI Messe. We strongly recommend you to come the evening of 15 May for receiving conference materials at the registration desk. It will open at 7:30-19:00 on 16 May, 8:00-17:00 on 17 May, 8:00-12:00 on 18 May, 8:00-17:00 on 19 May, and 8:00-12:00 on 20 May. You can make payment for on-site registration in cash (Japanese Yen only) or by credit card. No personal and travelers checks can be accepted.
5. Welcome Reception
A Welcome Reception will take place in the evening of the first day, 16 May at the poster session venue. Light appetizers and refreshments will be provided.
6. All the lunch will be served for all PRE-registered participants
Because the schedule of the scientific program will be tight, we supply lunch box for all pre-registered participants during the meeting period except Friday for excursion. On Friday, light meal such like sandwiches will be supplied only for excursion participants. The cost will be included in the registration fee. The tickets for the lunch boxes will be supplied at the registration desk.
If you want to order extra lunch box(es) for your accompanying person, you should make reservation by 17:00JST on 7 May.

7. Conference Photo / Press
After the morning plenary session on 17 May, we will take a group photo of the conference. Please do not miss it.
During the meeting, we LOC and some registered press will take snapshots. We hope your kind understanding.
8. Wireless Internet
Wireless LAN connections to the Internet will be provided at the Conference venue. The information for connection will be supplied at the registration desk. Wired LAN connections will be unavailable.
9. Travel Information Desk
A travel information desk will be open during 15-17 May by Niigata Convention Bureau. Some souvenirs shops and exhibition of companies related to astronomy will be open.
We will visit the Northern Culture Museum, which is a spacious wooden house contains more than 60 rooms built in Edo era. You can enjoy traditional Japanese architectures, and clam atmosphere together with beautiful flowers. At the Museum, we keep a restaurant for afternoon tea beak. Because many people are expected to join, the starting time of buses will be arranged at 13:30, 14:00, and 14:30. Two buses will be arranged each time, and participants will be divided to 6 groups for guide tour in the museum. The excursion ticket will be supplied from the time of morning coffee break on 17 May. You need reservation of ticket for getting on the bus. Because the final buses will return to Niigata just before starting the Banquet, they will stop by the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel. The light meel box will be provided only for participants of excursion.
Several options of transportation to and from Niigata city are added to the Web site. Please check it out when you make a plan to come. A new flight between Narita and Niigata has been started by All Nippon Airway (ANA), which is one of the Star Alliance members, as follows. ANA 3239: Departure time is 17:40 at Narita, arrival time is 18:45 at Niigata. ANA 3240: Departure time is 15:10 at Niigata, arrival time is 16:20 at Narita.
12. Currency Exchange
We recommend you to exchange your money into Japanese Yens at a Currency Exchange counter at the Airport on your arrival. There is an ATM near the Conference venue.

14. Annular Eclipse: 21 May / Contact address
You can enjoy the annular eclipse at major cities like Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya and Tokyo including Narita Airport in the early morining of 21 May. Special Glass of viewing eclipse will be provided to all the participants.
